How do I set up BoxBinAlert?
Connect the ReX unit to WiFi, enter your email, mount the Tex sensor on your mailbox post or package bin, and you're done. Alerts start instantly — no apps, no accounts, no subscriptions.
Do I need to visit the website after setup?
Nope. Once your WiFi and email are configured, the system runs itself. You’ll get alerts automatically without needing to log in or manage anything.
Is there a monthly fee?
Never. Email alerts are free forever for the first ReX. You pay once for the hardware — that’s it.
How long does the battery last?
Each TeX sensor uses a rechargeable 3.7V battery with extended life. Depending on usage, it can last for up to 24 months between charges.
Can I use multiple sensors?
Yes. Each ReX unit supports up to 8 TeX sensors. Perfect for property managers, multi‑unit setups, or large driveways.
What’s the range of the TeX sensor?
With LoRa HF long‑range wireless, TeX sensors can reach up to 2 miles — even through trees and rural terrain.
Can I manage my devices online?
Yes — but you don’t have to. The system works perfectly without ever logging in. If you want to check battery levels or signal strength, you can use the optional dashboard.
Can I add more units later?
Absolutely. You can purchase additional ReX/TeX units anytime to expand coverage across your property.
How does TeX install on the mailbox?
Mount TeX under your mailbox or on the post of the mailbox, then run the wire with the tilt sensor through a drilled hole in the bottom of the box. 3M Zip tie pad to lid.
How does ReX install in my home or office?
Mount ReX near a WiFi signal. Best to mount near window on wall, 4ft to 5ft or eye level. Even through walls BoxBinAlert units can receive the LoRa Signal up to 2 miles apart!
